Sray watched the clouds gather over the plains outside her home. They built themselves into a massive force as they prepared to charge the distant mountains, mere smudges on the horizon.

The weather mirrored the turmoil beginning to brew within her. Life had never been easy, but it had been consistant. Now she was on the edge, witnessing the calm before her own personal storm.

Although this scene isn't specifically mentioned in the story, Sray is often found sitting at the window, thinking and dreaming of the world outside the one she knows. Here, I believe, she's contemplating the choice of staying or going to Eniegema, a school for the Brotherhood of the Mine.

Several hours working off and on with pencils on Strathmore's drawing paper. I'm not sure if I'm terribly happy with the background and may go back and rework it if I manage to get some helpful hints on working with grass.
