Shape-Shifting

Shabenay, also called shape-shifters, are the youngest of the seven sentient species on Kashian.

It isn't precisely known how the Shabenay came to be, though according to their mythology Beneur, their goddess gathered the best of the other six sentient races and granted them the power to shape-shift, sending them out as peacemakers amoung the other races.

There are very few things separating a Shabenay from the animal or sentient forms it may take. All Shabenay possess Marks, these start with the initial "eye," which represents their ability to have many forms, but see through the same eyes. Marks can be "hidden" by fur or feathers, but they are always present on the skin. Shabenay also always maintain the same gender throughout their forms as well as eye color, which can be a tip-off if the color is unusual for the species.
