Common Tongue is the main spoken language on Kashian. It could very well be considered the official language of the planet. It is used most often during business transactions between species. In some places it has even replaced the native language of a region or people.

Common Tongue's purpose was to allow easy communication between species. This became necessary as, although one may learn to understand another's language, pronouncing it could be another matter entirely given the various types of sentients and their abilities at vocalization.
