Aitnu Iren The antagonist, Iren is a Hunter, meaning his job is to seek out people, animals, and most importantly, Shabenay. He works for himself and those willing to pay handsomly for his services. Kri Mri'tia Kierbah Omat Zashier Rirhe Ahkgany A first-generation Shabenay, Rirhe is not happy with his given lot. He is confused, scared, and completely lost. He was meant to go to one of the Kierr schools and recieve a top-rated education. After his first 'shift he panicked slightly and a friend helped him leave town, leaving his family and the rest of his hometown to believe that he was dead. Shinkir Shinkir was born Shabenay, a rarity on Kashian at this time as most of the Shabenay lines were destroyed during the Five Empires. However, she only had a short time among her own people before their small community was riazed and she was the only survivor. She was taken in by the Shamien until she was fifteen and encouraged to seek out her own people. She didn't make it very far; captured by Iren before she made it out of the Sha forest she was imprisoned for two years before escaping. However, Iren is still on her trail.
