Background
Shifting Times begins in the year 263 of Rising Order, more than fifty years after the first rumors of the Shabenay's return. It is a dangerous time to be a shape-shifter as a thousands years of myth and history lable the race as evil and manipulative. Shinkir is one of the few still alive that is connected to the ancient Shabenay lines. Her family was killed and she was raised by the Shamien, an ancient race that resides in the wilds of Kashian. When she set out to seek her own people Shinkir was captured by the Hunter, Iren, and taken to the Kistau Estate in southern Roomir. She spent two years with another Shabenay as a type of showpiece, a point of pride and stature for their eccentric captor. Shinkir managed to escape, but was forced to leave her friend behind. For six months she's been trying to ditch Iren, who was put on her trail after her escape. She is trying to make her way back now, but not without complications. |
