Image eight of twelve for the "Resistance" series I did in my last drawing class. Cavessons and other nosebands are intended to prevent the horse from opening his mouth to avoid contact with the bit, unfortunately sometimes they are used so cement the jaw shut and are sometimes cranked so tight that it interferes with the horse's breathing, as with this flash-style noseband. Pastels and ink on 9"x12" ColourFix paper. Original for sale. |
